Science Applications International Corp. has been awarded a $440,000 contract to help the state of California’s emergency services agency plan a future broadband network for first responders.
SAIC will facilitate outreach activities, town-hall meetings and webinars that are designed to guide Californian public safety officials through the FirstNet wireless communications project, SAIC said Monday.
“We are pleased to be providing the support to select states and agencies in the initial phase,” said Robert Genter, senior vice president and general manager of SAIC’s emerging markets customer group.
“California is an important customer as their success is essential to the national success of this critical infrastructure,” Genter added.
The firm-fixed-price and time and material contract contains two base years and a 12-month option period.
