Lockheed Martin BlueLockheed Martin Australia and the country’s defense and science technology organization have formed a 10-year alliance to collaborate on research and development work into technology.

“We have agreed to undertake joint research in a range of areas including predictive logistics, trusted assurance, the Aegis combat system, over the horizon radar, hypersonics and operational analysis,” Alex Zelinsky, the organization’s chief defense scientist, said Monday.

Zelinsky signed the agreement with Raydon Gates, Lockheed Martin Australia’s CEO.

“The advancement of interactive projects under the alliance will provide important direction for future strategic investments  in Australia,” Gates said.

The organization has also formed industry partnerships with BAE Systems, Thales, SAAB Australia, ASC and IBM to bring more investment into research.
