KPMG’s capital business unit has released results of a recent study that found C-suite executives are facing challenges in managing their large volumes of data.
KPMG surveyed 144 chief financial officers and chief information officers from multinational companies with $1 billion or more in annual revenues for the research, “Going beyond the data: Achieving actionable insights from data and analytics,†KPMG said Friday.
“From CEOs, to CFOs, CIOs and CMOs, the challenge for today’s executive is understanding how to draw actionable insights from data and turn them into tangible, genuine results,†said Mark Toon, CEO of KPMG Capital.
The study shows 75 percent of business executives surveyed find it hard to decide on data and analytics and 85 percent say their businesses struggle to analyze current data.
Forty two percent of respondents cite systems integration as their top barrier while more than 54 percent find difficulty in determining the type of data to gather.
