Frank Calvelli, a seasoned military, intelligence and space systems leader, has been selected as the newest member of the board of directors at True Anomaly.
The Centennial, Colorado-based defense technology company said Wednesday Calvelli will lead True Anomaly’s efforts in enhancing its operations ensuring alignment with government and military missions.
Who Is Frank Calvelli?
Calvelli is a defense and space professional with over 30 years of experience in national security acquisition, operations and space systems development. He most recently served as assistant secretary of the Air Force for space acquisition and integration. He is the first Senate-confirmed official to serve as the dedicated service acquisition executive responsible for military space programs. The position was directed by Congress in the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which also established the United States Space Force.
In his previous role, Calvelli was the chair of the Space Acquisition Council which was responsible for the architecture and integration of space systems acquisitions and programs in the armed forces. He also spearheaded space acquisition centers in the Department of the Air Force.
Prior to this, Calvelli served at the CIA and National Reconnaissance Office in various leadership positions. He spent over eight years as the principal deputy director of the NRO.
