Ultra Intelligence & Communications will provide rekey and remote management system updates for the U.S. Air Force’s fielded communications security devices under an other transaction authority agreement.
The company said Tuesday the $31.9 million award issued through the OTA with Consortium Management Group covers the development of a high-assurance encryptor to facilitate secure network distribution of commands and keys to various COMSEC devices and integration of key management infrastructure protocols and security requirements to meet the needs of defense operations.
The BlackArrow encryption key management program award with the Air Force’s cryptologic and cyber systems division includes support for Link-16, in-line encryptors, identification friend or foe and other operationally deployed COMSEC devices.
“Remote management and rekey capability are necessary to improve tactical network operations, minimize downtime, and protect our military personnel responsible for maintaining tactical equipment in operational locations. As CJADC2 and other initiatives continue to connect assets and domains, the maintenance of those tactical networks become increasingly important,” said Bradford Powell, president of the command, control, intelligence and encryption division at Ultra I&C.
