Science Applications International Corp. has made a strategic investment in cloud automation platforms provider Morpheus Data.
Founded in 2015, Morpheus Data provides a platform that offers a unified approach to hybrid cloud management and operations and enables the integration of third-party tools into a self-service framework in support of public sector organizations and companies, SAIC said Monday.
“This investment is aligned with SAIC’s strategy to seamlessly integrate best-in-class technologies to improve outcomes for our customers,” said Andy Henson, vice president of digital innovation at SAIC.
Henson noted that combining the company’s research and development priorities with Morpheus will enable SAIC to offer a platform that could help speed up service delivery provisioning cycles and improve transparency in multicloud environments.
Under the $5 million investment, SAIC will use Morpheus’ software as the orchestration engine for its suite of platforms, dubbed CloudScend, meant to help clients explore, migrate and operate within the cloud environment.
“This investment allows SAIC to address a strong and growing pipeline of Secure Cloud opportunities,” Henson added.
