Sierra Space has partnered with Belcan to leverage the latter’s engineering capabilities to support the space company’s efforts focused on building commercial low-Earth orbit space transportation and infrastructures.
The multi-year agreement covers design, analysis, systems and software engineering, program management, manufacturing engineering, supply chain technologies and other services for the Sierra Space transportation and destination portfolios, the companies said in a joint statement published Friday.
Sierra Space is working to enable the commercialization of LEO through affordable access to space. The company’s Dream Chaser was selected by NASA to conduct cargo supply and return missions in support of the International Space Station.
“Our collaboration with Belcan further enhances Sierra Space’s ability to build the next platform for business in the unique environment afforded by space where new technological breakthroughs that will directly enhance our life on earth will be born,” said Tom Vice, CEO of Sierra Space.
Lance Kwasniewski, CEO of Belcan, added that the company will utilize its engineering expertise, full life cycle capabilities and space experience to fulfill its part of the agreement.
