Monique Brown, a former director at Lockheed Martin, has joined Voyager Space as director of business development for national security programs.
The Denver, Colorado-based space exploration company said Monday Brown will work to identify growth opportunities and expand Voyager’s clientele in the national security space sector.
In her previous role as director of strategy and business development at Lockheed, Brown led the aeronautics business development team for South, Central, and Eastern Europe. Prior to that, she held senior-level positions at General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
Voyager Chief Revenue Officer Clay Mowry remarked on Brown’s track record of creating a network of national security partnerships with the government and allied organizations.
Across her almost 20-year career, Brown has worked with the Defense Intelligence Agency, U.S. European Command Intelligence Directorate and the Air Force, focusing on navigating policy and programmatic issues in order to enable the sale of U.S. weapon systems and capabilities to international buyers.
Commenting on her appointment, Brown said, “I’m eager to get to work with the team and further strengthen Voyager’s footprint within the national security sector.”
The announcement comes after Lockheed’s award of a $94 million subcontract to Voyager Space subsidiary Valley Tech Systems in December. The contract will fund the construction of propulsion technology for a Missile Defense Agency weapon system.
