NetImpact Strategies has been awarded a prototyping contract from the Defense Health Agency for the development of the Virtual Education Center in support of the Military Health Systems’ 9.6 million beneficiaries.
Along with its partner, CoherentRX, NetImpact competed against 11 other teams to secure the VEC contract, which was awarded as an Other Transaction Authority in order to streamline the pilot and deliver enhanced benefits to MHS beneficiaries more quickly, the company said Friday.
NetImpact will leverage multiple capabilities under its DX360 platform to research, design, develop, test and deploy the VEC prototype as a pilot before enterprise rollout.
VEC is expected to extend patients’ point of care through a virtual platform that will allow for enhanced patient-provider collaboration and communication as well as provide patients with deeper educational information on a diagnosis.
NetImpact Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Wilson welcomed the opportunity for NetImpact to collaborate on a project essential to DHA’s core mission.
“Facilitating patient literacy and awareness by improving the ease of access and automating their education needs will completely change patient involvement by empowering them for better patient outcomes,” she said.
The contract continues NetImpact’s partnership with DHA, following the company’s recent win of the Ektropy Support Services contract, under which NetImpact will provide DHA with agile application development and sustainment services.
