BlueHalo has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Design and Development Engineering Services Corporation to expands the Arlington Capital Partners company’s space-qualified hardware, laser communications systems and directed energy capabilities.
“DDES has established itself as a leader in developing space-qualified hardware and we are incredibly excited to partner with the DDES management team as we expand our space manufacturing capabilities and continue to provide unique, world-class solutions for our customers,” Jonathan Moneymaker, CEO of BlueHalo, said in a statement published Tuesday.

BlueHalo is a growing national security platform with space superiority, directed energy, missile defense, C4ISR, cyber and intelligence capabilities. The acquisition of DDES is aimed at solidifying BlueHalo’s position as a market leader in high-end space systems.
DDES has vast experience in developing radiation-hardened, space-qualified systems and has nurtured a reputation of excellence for clients who rely on DDES’ high-reliability, high-performance systems.
The company has supported over 250 on-orbit systems and its track record will add to BlueHalo’s reputation as a trusted producer of space-qualified systems for the most challenging missions.
