An Akima subsidiary has won a seat on a potential 10-year, $835 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Air Force for aircraft support services.
Under the Rotary Wing Maintenance Contract Consolidation IDIQ, Akima Logistics Services will provide helicopter maintenance operations to support operational and training missions of the service branch, the company said Thursday.
Scott Rauer, president of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group, said the award reflects USAF's confidence in Akima as a trusted provider of aviation maintenance, logistics and supply chain services.
Air Force helicopter programs are consolidated under the contract to ensure full-time availability of UH-1N, HH-60 and MH-139 helicopters, as well as V-22 tilt-rotor and other mission-capable aircraft.
The contract covers all organizational maintenance activities, certain types of intermediate maintenance, weapons maintenance services, aircrew flight equipment maintenance and supply services.
Pacific Air Forces, AF Global Strike Command, AF District of Washington and Air Education and Training Command are the recipients of the said services.
Work will occur at Kirtland Air Force Base, Andrews AFB, Fairchild AFB, Warren AFB, Minot AFB, Malmstrom AFB and Yokota Air Base.
