Edgybees, a Maryland-based developer of aerial video georeferencing software for public safety and defense applications, has generated $9.5 million from a Series A funding round to seed product development, hiring and market footprint expansion initiatives.
LG Technology Ventures, Verizon Ventures, Refinery Ventures, Kodem Growth Partners and OurCrowd participated in the Seraphim Capital-led fundraising round, Edgybees said Wednesday.
"Our mission is to ensure positive human outcomes during lifesaving missions," said Adam Kaplan, co-founder and CEO of Edgybees.
The company designed its Visual Intelligence Platform to produce overlays of landmarks, roads and mission-critical assets with live video footage for potential defense, law enforcement and infrastructure management use.
Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, NFX and 8VC are current Edgybees investors.
