L3Harris Technologies has won a $48.9M contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with hardware and software for electronic intelligence signals exploitation.
The company will work to augment the performance of emerging emitter technologies across the aspects of collection, characterization, reporting accuracy and detection, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
In addition, the effort aims to better classify signal characteristics and develop technologies that automatically detect, measure, process and exploit radio signals.
Air Force Research Laboratory launched a competition for the contract and received two proposals. USAF obligates an initial amount of $3M in fiscal 2019 funds allotted for research, development, test and evaluation.
Work will take place in Greenville, Texas, through September 2024.
