Shaun Bierweiler, vice president and general manager of the public sector business at Cloudera, has said a data collection approach that employs artificial intelligence and machine learning can help Department of Defense components extract information from multiple sources to support DoD missions.
In a LinkedIn article posted Tuesday, Bierweiler refers to the approach as enterprise data cloud powered by open-source technology.
He noted that Cloudera used its platform to help consolidate the Joint Improvised Threat Defeat Organization’s global data sources and cut operational costs by 20 percent.
“As JIDO has come to find, the power of the enterprise data cloud can have a transformative impact on the American warfighter, for the benefit of our servicemembers and our national security,” he said.
Bierweiler added the agency was able to utilize AI, machine learning and analytics in efforts to manage dispatch of military platforms to the warfighter.
