Dewberry has been awarded a task order by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide engineering services in support of the South Atlantic Coastal Study, a government research project that aims to examine regional coastal data and identify hurricane risk areas.
The company said Tuesday it will work with the USACE’s Engineer Research and Development Center as well as the engineering section of the SACS South Atlantic Division to provide technical expertise and to complete an overall review of a storm modeling technology.
In addition, Dewberry will provide architecture services and additional technical reports in relation to the venture, including semi-annual reports to the USACE SACS Executive Committee and Senior Advisory Group.
“As Congress and USACE continue to make storm-induced coastal risks and resilience top priorities, we are thrilled to support the USACE leadership, ERDC, and SAD team in this important comprehensive study,†said Tony Buitrago, project manager and associate vice president at Dewberry.
