DataPath has received a contract of an undisclosed value from the U.S. Army to provide satellite communications platforms and services for homeland defense and civil support missions.
The company said Monday it will supply satcom hardware and software as well as install and maintain systems designed to facilitate interoperability of communications between military and civil response teams.
Efforts under the program will support U.S. Northern Command’s Deployable Communications Capabilities Systems and work also includes capability design, system alteration, technical refreshment, training, service desk support for transit-cased and vehicular platforms.
DataPath partnered with Science Applications International Corp. to deliver the services.
“Since Homeland Defense and Defense Support of Civil Authorities events cannot be pre-identified by location, all of these communications capabilities are commercial satellite link capable and connected,” said Sherin Kamal, DataPath CEO.
“DataPath is proud to play a leading role in this effort to help secure our nation’s safety.”
