SAIC Eyes Facilities Consolidation in D.C. Area After Engility Deal

Science Applications International Corp. is considering a plan to consolidate its offices and to enhance its information technology infrastructure following the acquisition of Engility in January, Bisnow reported Monday.

SAIC Chief Information Officer Nathan Rogers said he plans to rethink the firm’s real estate footprint in an effort to boost productivity and retain employees.

He noted the consolidation will focus on costs, workplace design and IT.

"Every time you consolidate, the big thing that comes up is cost synergy," Rogers said. "The big things that get hit right out of the gate are facilities and IT."

The combined companies currently operate 31 offices across the D.C. area.

In 2017, SAIC relocated its headquarters from Tysons in Virginia to a building south of Reston Town Center. 

A company spokesperson said the facility will remain as the company’s headquarters as part of its consolidation plan.
