Northrop Grumman‘s innovation systems sector has completed the expansion of a Mesa, Ariz., facility built to manufacture Bushmaster medium-caliber cannons for the military sector.
The company said Wednesday it will hire up to 60 new employees to support manufacturing, program management and engineering efforts at the 36K-square-foot facility.
The expansion project almost doubled the site’s production capacity.
Lisa Brown, vice president for site operations at Northrop, said the company seeks to address a demand for cannons as U.S. and allied forces look to expand their defense platforms in response to threats worldwide.
The Bushmaster product line is designed to support ground, air and naval combat missions.
