Xavier Beale, formerly director of human resources operations at Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ Newport News Shipbuilding division, has been promoted to a vice president role within the same division.
He will oversee production trades and trades administration and management functions as well as manage operations of the company-run Apprentice School in Virginia, HII said Friday.
Beale succeeds Ray Bagley, who retired after a more than four-decade career at HII.
He joined the shipbuilding company in 1991 as a pipefitter, left for other career opportunities and then rejoined the firm in 2004, holding leadership positions within its HR department.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in governmental administration from Christopher Newport University and a master’s degree in HR from Troy University.
