Walsh to Build NASA Glenn Research Support Facility - top government contractors - best government contracting eventWalsh Construction Company II has received a potential two-year, $32.7 million contract to build a research support building at NASA‘s Glenn Research Center.

The company will construct a two-story, 64,000-square-foot facility designed to accommodate up to 164 employees and feature open offices, private offices, conference and engineering rooms, engineering rooms and dining areas, NASA said Monday.

Under the contract, Walsh will also remove existing pavements, build roadways and walkways, prepare the site, provide landscaping and install watertight chambers for foundation support.

Work will also include support for building utilities intended to address water, energy, communications and electrical requirements.

The project commenced Aug. 10 and NASA said the contract includes seven options that could extend work through June 9, 2020.
