The Defense Information Systems Agency’s Procurement Services Directorate and the National Institute of Standards and Technology are seeking information on standardized metrics to streamline service level agreements for commercial cloud contracts.
DISA posted a request for information Friday calling for industry feedback on efforts to create a catalog of metrics for accessibility, availability, performance, service reliability, data management, attestations, certifications and audits, change management, cloud service support, governance and termination of service to help federal agencies formulate requirements for procuring commercial cloud services.
The RFI states that an “inter-agency working group” will develop the catalog which will serve as a non-mandatory tool for federal contractors.
The initiative comes after the Government Accountability Office reported in 2016 that there was a lack of consistency across the government when it comes to creating SLAs for cloud service acquisition.
DISA will accept industry feedback until Sept. 10, 2018.
