Honeywell has received an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide voice-directed systems for employees at approximately 24 distribution centers managed by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency.
The company said Friday it will configure, test and implement the Vocollect technology for DLA’s warehouse staff to pick orders across U.S. military and federal supply chain activities worldwide.
Vocollect comprises a headset equipped with software platform that works to integrate with warehouse management systems and helps users listen to instructions or speak back responses.
The system is designed to facilitate communications in more than 30 languages.
Honeywell noted it intends to complete the initial configuration phase before the company implements a pilot program.
