Northrop Grumman exhibited the MQ-8C Fire Scout unmanned helicopter with anti-submarine warfare equipment at the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford, U.K., Flightglobal reported Monday.
The aircraft featured a sonobuoy mission pod developed by U.K.-based firm Ultra Electronics.
The event comes in a week after the helicopter’s completion of operational testing on the USS Coronado.
Northrop intends to boost the Fire Scout’s surveillance capacities via the Leonardo Osprey radar that is planned for initial deployment in 2020.
