Vigor Industrial has received a potential $42.2 million contract from the U.S. Navy for repairs and modifications to a guided-missile destroyer.
The company said Monday services for the USS Sampson might include surface preparation, blasting and painting. The contract also covers possible work on parts of the ship such as the freeboard, hull, rudders, struts and electronics.
Vigor secured in March an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract worth up to $35 million to support the planned dry-docking selected restricted availabilities of Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class ships.
The DSRA contract covers dry-dock support, crane support and ship force support, as well as lay-down, security, utilities and facilities for office spaces and warehouse storage.
