Marc Teerlink, formerly chief business strategist of IBM‘s Watson business group, has joined SAP as global vice president of the software company’s digital innovation system SAP Leonardo.
SAP said Friday that Teerlink will be responsible for helping drive the company’s presence in the artificial intelligence and machine learning markets in his new position.
He will be based at a company office in Washington, D.C. and report to Mike Flannagan, senior VP of SAP Leonardo and SAP Analytics.
Teerlink spent more than 15 years at IBM and most recently managed product offerings related to the Watson cognitive computing platform.
Before he joined IBM in 2011, he held positions at Teradata, AT&T and a global consulting firm.
