Pierre Chao serves as a founding partner of Renaissance Strategic Advisors, where he brings more than 30 years of aerospace and defense strategy management consulting, investment banking and policy analysis experience to his position.
He is also a managing partner and co-founder at investment company Enlightenment Capital, a board member at Truman National Security Project and a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Before he established RSAdvisors, Chao worked as director of the CSIS’ Defense-Industrial Initiatives from 2003 to 2007, managing director of Credit Suisse First Boston from 1999 to 2003 and an independent senior adviser at CSFB from 2003 to 2006.
Between 1998 and 1999, his roles included time as senior A&D analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Smith Barney as well as a director at JSA International, and a merger-and-acquisition banker at Prudential-Bache Capital Funding.
The Wall Street veteran participated in 31 landmark A&D equity and initial public offerings that raised nearly $11.7 billion combined along with multiple buy- and sell-side M&A assignments.
Chao also currently serves as guest lecturer at the National Defense University and the Defense Acquisition University and previously served on several Defense Science Board task forces and the Defense Business Board.
He is a former board member at KeyW and Vistronix Intelligence & Technology Solutions.
He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and management science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
