Liquid Robotics has named three new members to its strategic advisory board  U.S. Pacific Command head Timothy Keating, former United Nations Command leader Walter Sharp and Francisco Chavez — a senior scientist and biological oceanographer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
The unmanned ocean robot manufacturer said Tuesday Keating, Sharp and Chavez will join 18 board advisers from defense, foreign affairs, communications and technology and science industries.
“As we work to help address some of the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific region, Adm. Keating, Gen. Sharp, and Dr. Chavez’s expertise and counsel will be invaluable to our continued success,” said Liquid Robotics CEO Gary Gysin.
Keating, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, led efforts to maintain security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region with 3.4 billion people in its area of responsibility as USPACOM commander.
Sharp, a retired U.S. Army general, also served as commander for the Republic of Korea – U.S. Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea, where he managed the unified command structure for the military forces supporting South Korea.
Chavez is a founding member of MBARI and has conducted research on the effects of climate variability on oceanic ecosystems and global carbon cycling.
Liquid Robotics works in the Asia-Pacific region to help customers manage and protect their coastlines amid regional tensions, illegal fishing and climate change.
