Lockheed Martin and Orbital ATK have joined SpaceCom as new founding sponsors with focus on space technologies.
SpaceCom said Thursday that the companies will sponsor the a SpaceCom conference set to take place from Nov. 17 through 19 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
Richard Jackson, director of NASA programs at Lockheed Martin, said the company intends for its sponsorship of the event to help address customer challenges in space exploration and scientific discovery missions.
“SpaceCom will help open dialogues, build relationships, identify common challenges, and explore new markets for technologies and innovations that are solving challenges across multiple industries,†Jackson added.
Frank Culbertson Jr., president of space systems group at Orbital ATK, will participate in a panel discussion on space commerce opportunities for all sectors.
Wanda Sigur, vice president and general manager of the civil space business at Lockheed Martin, will also join a discussion focused on the state of global space commerce.
