Lockheed Martin has partnered with the Space Foundation to establish a new learning facility to encourage science, technology, engineering and math study.
The Lockheed Martin Space Education Center is located at the Space Foundation Discovery Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is built with a $400,000 grant from the company, the foundation said Wednesday.
“If we are to continue to make great advances in space, we must spark the curiosity of young minds and inspire students with the amazing opportunities aerospace has to offer,” said Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed’s space systems business.
The company also seeks to support field trip scholarships, professional development and virtual learning through the new center.
The Space Foundation Discovery Center also houses the El Pomar Space Gallery and the Northrop Grumman Science Center.
