Neel Mehta
Charles Carey serves as vice president and general counsel for the information systems business at Exelis, where he provides guidance on the organization’s legal activities.
He joined the company in January 2014 and also oversees trade compliance, ethics, environmental safety, export and security functions.
He previously served as a senior corporate counsel within Virtual Computing Environment‘s public sector business and advised senior executives on compliance and government contracting issues.
Carey has also spent four years at Gallup as a vice president and associate general counsel.
In that role, he managed internal investigations, commercial contracts and software licensing transactions as well as oversaw the research firm’s compliance with government contracting laws.
He also held a similar position at TSI LLC, where he counseled senior managers and executive committee members on all legal issues.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Coppin State University and a juris doctorate at the Catholic University of America.
