Greg Pelton serves as chief technology officer at Avaya Government Solutions, where he oversees the business division’s technical assets for serving federal government clients.
Pelton developed the unit’s sales engineering organization and works to apply government standards to Avaya’s offerings, as well as to create go-to-market products and collateral.
He started his career at Nortel, where he developed telecommunication products for service providers and formed the company’s Germany-based research and development center in partnership with Daimler Benz.
Pelton later joined Cisco and held several executive roles, including a lead position at the Cisco Technology Center business incubator.
He also worked to develop strategies for targeting newmarkets and incubating new technologies while at the technology center.
Pelton also led Cisco’s Internet Routing In Space program, developing networking products for satellite clients, before he joined Avaya Government Solutions in 2011 as vice president of product strategy.
