Jay Bavisi, president and co-founder of certification body EC-Council, has been appointed to the board of the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education, an organization of U.S. information security professionals from government, industry and academia.
EC-Council said Thursday Bavisi has previously participated in CISSE events and is also a recipient of the colloquium’s 2013 Industry Leadership Award.

He has played a key role in the launch of the Global Cyberlympics contest and leads the nonprofit EC-Council Foundation’s programs in retraining wounded soldiers to become “cyber warriors” and starting the Live.Learn.Secure. cybersecurity awareness program in K-12 schools across North America.
Other members of the CISSE board of directors include William Maconachy, former National Security Agency deputy senior computer science authority, and Brenda Oldfield, former director of the Department of Homeland Security‘s national cybersecurity division.
