NetApp to Help Wichita State University Run Innovation Center; Joel Reich Comments

NetApp will work with Wichita State University to help the school run a future innovation center with the goal of creating more jobs in Wichita and Kansas, the Wichita Eagle reported Tuesday. 

Roy Wenzl writes that construction work on the innovation center will start construction in 2015 and WSU has hired 12 people to work with NetApp.

The Eagle reports that WSU will hire an additional 12 workers by the end of the summer.

“The new center will give students the opportunity to work with enterprise-class storage and data management technologies and obtain the critical skills necessary to address the increasing complexity of data management,” said Joel Reich, senior vice president of NetApp’s E-Series products group.

NetApp intends for the center to function as a connecting point for network storage providers, according to the report.
