Turner Construction aims to be finished with construction work on a new science building for the Middle Tennessee State University by the end of MTSU’s spring semester, according to a Tuesday report from the university’s  MTSU Sidelines newspaper.Â
Taylor Davis writes that the new 250,000-square-foot, three-story building will require finishing touches this summer and house biology and chemistry classes.
Ninety percent of the building features an outdoor view, the newspaper reports.
“It will be a beautiful showcase of science for our guests including potential new students, visitors who come to participate in science outreach and education opportunities, and representatives of local scientific and technological industries who will come to recruit future graduates,†said Tammy Melton, chemistry professor, according to the report.
Bud Fischer, the university’s basic and applied science dean, said the building will have indoor and outdoor classrooms.
