A business unit of BAE Systems has secured a $51.9 million contract modification to design, build and commission a combined gas and steam plant at a U.S. Army facility that supplies explosive materials to the Defense Department.
BAE Systems Ordnance Systems will construct the power plant at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant located in Kingsport, Tennessee, DoDÂ said Tuesday.
The Army obligated the full contract at the time of award using its fiscal 2017 “other” procurement.
The Pentagon expects the contractor to finish the project by Jan. 22, 2020.
