IST Research has received a potential $4.8 million contract to provide a data collection and analysis platform to Defense Department combatant commands and partner organizations that support human security efforts.
The company said Tuesday it will initially provide its Pulse Platform to the U.S. Central Command under the Phase III Small Business Innovative Research contract from the General Services Administration.
“We’re very enthusiastic to begin the work with the GSA to demonstrate how the Pulse Platform can act as a catalyst to begin to head off critical human security issues at the pass,” said IST Research founder and CEOÂ Ryan Paterson.
The web-based platform is designed to combine population engagement and internet monitoring to provide data streams that could aid efforts against transnational crime and terrorism.
IST Research added its team collects, analyzes and visualizes data to determine people and methods involved in issues such as human trafficking, extremism, international aid programs and cease-fire agreements.
