General Dynamics‘ mission systems business in Canada has released a new suite of digital communications systems for first responders to exchange information over fixed or mobile networks.
The portfolio comprises the CitySHIELD, BorderSHIELD, InfrastructureSHIELD and EmergencySHIELD platforms that are designed to help increase users’ situational awareness as well as reduce emergency response times through the combination of 4G LTE technology with satellite and fiber optics networks, General Dynamics said Tuesday.
The four offerings are based on the SHIELD Ecosystem architecture developed by General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada and seek to help police and other first responders communicate using digital applications.
SHIELD platforms will also work to show commanders the availability, capacity and location of field-deployed personnel, General Dynamics noted.
