Cloudera has enlisted user and entity behavior analytics company Niara as a reseller of the former’s Hadoop-powered cybersecurity platform in an effort to help clients detect advanced threats.
As a Cloudera Enterprise reseller, Niara will apply its machine learning models across various dimensions of user behavior and send a forensic record of the affected entities to a security analyst in the event of an attack, Cloudera said Wednesday.
“Cybersecurity continues to be a board room conversation across every enterprise today,†said Tim Stevens, vice president of business and corporate development at Cloudera.
“[Chief information security officers] recognize that in order to detect malicious insider threats, or even negligent employee actions, solutions must be able to analyze data at scale,†added Stevens.
Niara uses supervised and unsupervised machine learning models to process data sources such as logs, flows, packets and external threat feeds in its analytics platform.
Cloudera added that Niara works to create baselines of normal behavior in order to detect irregularities in information technology activity that have gotten past conventional security defenses.
