NexDefense has agreed to offer its industrial network security monitoring and anomaly detection system to General Dynamics’ information technology business unit under a new collaboration pact between both organizations.
The commercial cyber services organization within General Dynamics’ IT unit will utilize NexDefense’s Sophia product to expand cybersecurity monitoring services into the industrial control system market, NexDefense said Tuesday.
“Critical infrastructure worldwide face unprecedented threats from sophisticated and well-funded threat actors with various financial, reputational and physical motivations,†said Doug Wylie, NexDefense vice president of product strategy.
Wylie added the team will aim to help minimize risks for General Dynamics’ infrastructure clients without disruptions to operations.
NexDefense developed Sophia in collaboration with the Energy Department, Battelle Energy Alliance and the Idaho National Laboratory and has since updated the system to feature asset identification, deep packet inspection for industrial protocols and updated visualization functions.
