Ipswich City Council has appointed Accenture to assist in the city’s “Smart City” Transportation Strategy and Implementation Plan.
The company will develop and deliver a blueprint designed to optimize city operations and community engagement, cultivate digital technologies and create new economic strategies, Accenture said Sunday.
“Rather than proposing a product driven, technology-centric solution, we have embedded our consulting and strategic approach around the vision and needs of the Ipswich community,” said Catherine Garner, Accentures health and public service lead for Australia and New Zealand.
Accenture will work to identify and develop a strategic direction to help maintain priorities and meet safety, connectivity, productivity and livability requirements in Ipswich.
The council has also launched a community digital innovation hub called Fire Station 101 that looks to aid the city in harnessing digital technology to promote engagement among businesses and city leaders, manage assets and develop new public services.
