Hughes Network Systems has concluded the installation of a managed enterprise network for the Labor Department‘s Mine Safety and Health Administration under a one-year, $1.36 million contract.
The company said Monday HughesON works to provide remote connectivity to the deployed vehicles and regional facilities of MSHA’s Mine Emergency Operations.
Tony Bardo, Hughes assistant vice president of government solutions, said the company aims to deliver equipment and services that could enhance the mobility and productivity of MSHA employees and assist them in ensuring the safety of mines.
Hughes said it will also work to deliver point-to-point satellite and mobile communications that meets MSHA’s network traffic requirements.
