CenturyLink will offer its cloud infrastructure-as-a-service product to federal agencies through the company’s position on the General Services Administration‘s Networx contract vehicle.
CenturyLink Government Cloud works to help agencies move their data workloads to the cloud through the VMware-built vCloud Government Services IaaS platform, CenturyLink said Tuesday.
Tim Meehan, senior vice president and general manager of CenturyLink’s federal business, said the company’s partnership with VMware aims to help agencies migrate their information technology workloads to the cloud through FedRAMP-certified infrastructure services.
The vCloud offering is a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certified-hybrid cloud platform that CenturyLink provides to agencies through VMware’s managed services provider model.
Networx is GSA’s current contract vehicle for communications services and is scheduled to be replaced by the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions vehicle, for which proposals face a due date of Feb. 22 after two extensions from the previous deadline of Jan. 15.
