The State Department has approved the request of Saudi Arabia to purchase weapons system upgrade and logistics support from Raytheon under a potential $154.9 million foreign military sale.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday Saudi Arabia’s order includes the conversion of five Block 0 MK 15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons Systems to the Block 1B Baseline 2 configuration.
The request also includes five local control stations, workforce training and equipment and U.S. government and contractor engineering.
DSCA added that the sale will support Saudi Arabia’s national and multinational naval missions and help secure its homeland defense from regional threats.
