Greg Wenzel, executive vice president and C4ISR/digital solutions lead at Booz Allen Hamilton‘s strategic innovation group, believes that open architecture in the C4ISR industry can help bolster its digital transformation efforts.
Wenzel wrote in a guest piece published Tuesday on C4ISR & Networks that an open digital ecosystem supports the integration and reuse of new technologies and applications and brings value to the government and military.
He also said several initiatives in the Defense Department work to support an agile C4ISR enterprise.
He notes that industry can pursue affordability and sustainability of systems to meet warfighter needs if companies establish interoperability as a requirement and utilize open source standards.
