NVIDIA has announced it is working with several manufacturing partners to produce artificial intelligence supercomputers in the United States.

NVIDIA said Monday it is collaborating with TSMC to manufacture its Blackwell chips in Phoenix, Arizona. The global chipmaker will also partner with Amkor and SPIL for packaging and testing operations in the Arizona facility.

In addition, NVIDIA is constructing two plants in Texas, with Foxconn in Houston and with Wistron in Dallas. The company noted that manufacturing activities in the two sites would increase over the next 12 to 15 months.

US Manufacturing Capabilities

According to NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang, establishing manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. would help the company meet the surging demand for AI chips, bolster the supply chain and boost its resiliency. “The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time,” he stressed.

Chip Factories to Generate Jobs

NVIDIA said it will use advanced AI, robotics and digital twin technologies to design and operate the facilities. The company projects it will produce expensive AI infrastructure in the country within the next four years. The U.S. AI factories are also expected to generate new jobs and fuel economic security over the coming decades.
