Lockheed Shares Tech Enhancement Plans for Missile Defense Agency's C2BMC System - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Lockheed Martin is working on next-generation technology such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to upgrade the command and control, battle management, and communications capabilities of the Missile Defense Agency.

The company said Tuesday that it will integrate hypersonic as well as ballistic and cruise missile defense to modernize the agency’s C2BMC data analysis and networking systems.

C2BMC’s missile defense architecture is made up of over 48,000 miles of sensor and threat data communication lines. Lockheed plans to support activities to enhance MDA’s situational and space awareness and boost such connectivity.

The defense contractor will also equip C2BMC with advanced sensor data for earlier threat detection and employ AI and ML to increase tracking, targeting, engagement and assessment capabilities.

“Through new technology and upgrades, our cross-industry team of defense and commercial partners applies constant and considerable ingenuity to ensure C2BMC continues to evolve as our customer’s missions evolve and increase in complexity,”  said Amr Hussein, Lockheed’s vice president of C4ISR Systems.
