Boeing will equip the U.S. Army with more Next Generation Automated Test System units within a three-year period under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract of up to $92 million.
The aerospace company said Thursday NGATS will be utilized on M109A7 Paladin and Black Hawk helicopters aside from Army platforms to automate the detection of component issues.
NGATS is a mobile, deployable and reconfigurable diagnostic tool designed to support the testing and screening of all Army weapon systems in order to maintain readiness to shoot, move and communicate.
“This award demonstrates that NGATS is becoming the standard for fix effectiveness and readiness in the field, enabling operations in a contested logistics environment,” said John Chicoli, Boeing Global Services’ vertical lift and special operations director.
