KBR has secured a potential five-year, $49.5 million contract for maintenance and sustainment of automated hydrant fueling systems at 90 Department of Defense facilities around the world.
The company said Tuesday it will help the Defense Logistics Agency enhance fuel monitoring, prevent spills and increase inventory accountability by providing equipment and site support, program management, training, testing and maintenance services.
The efforts are in support of the Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance program, a DLA initiative aimed at implementing maintenance standards to reduce costs and enhance system performance, safety and maintainability.
The company will use its digitalization expertise and implement its sustainability principles to support the program, according to Byron Bright, president of KBR’s global government solutions business.
“KBR will provide safe and modern engineering and maintenance services to fuel systems in key areas around the globe,” said Bright, a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.
Aside from DLA, the contract also supports the Air National Guard and the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is a single award and has one base year and four option years.
