Petko Stoyanov, chief technology officer for the global government business at Forcepoint, has said federal information technology leaders should consider adopting a future-focused cloud computing approach that would give them visibility into an IT environment, protect data and analyze user behavior.
“Visibility, data protection and behavioral analytics are critical components of an architecture that allows for such flexibility going forward without compromising security now,†Stoyanov wrote in a commentary published Wednesday on Federal News Network.
He noted the use of a zero trust model for user authentication could help agencies secure both cloud and edge IT platforms and such a security architecture should support analysis of user behavior indicators.
The adoption of cloud-based technology that offers flexibility for system management would prevent government organizations from taking short-term measures that might affect bandwidth and security.
