IBM is providing citizens free tools through The Weather Channel application and website to help them track reported COVID-19 cases and gain access to news and other information related to the coronavirus pandemic using their computers and smartphones.

The platforms operate on IBM’s public cloud and use the IBM Watson platform to analyze data from the World Health Organization, national, local and state government agencies, IBM said Wednesday.

Individuals using the tools can see an “incidents map” of confirmed COVID-19 cases, data and related statistics, a trend graph by state and latest news and videos related to the virus.

The company is also offering an interactive dashboard built on IBM Cognos Analytics to help researchers, data scientists and other organizations perform regional data filtering and analysis related to COVID-19.
